Colheita is a tawny Port, made from grapes of 1 special harvest year. Where 'regular' Tawny Port is meant to be of uniform quality, Colheita Port differs from year to year in character and has more depth than a regular Tawny.
Niepoort usually lets a Colheita age for a minimum of 10 years. This Colheita 2007 aged in small oak barrels for 10 years exactly to maintain its freshness (bottled in 2018). Transparant brick red/chestnut in colour with the taste of candied plumbs/figs.
