Colheita is a tawny Port, made from grapes of 1 special harvest year. Where 'regular' Tawny Port is meant to be of uniform quality, Colheita Port differs from year to year in character and has more depth than a regular Tawny.
Niepoort usually lets a Colheita age for a minimum of 10 years. This Colheita 2009 aged in small oak barrels for exactly 10 years (bottled in July 2019). Transparant brick red in colour with smokey vanilla and taste of marmelade, raisins and dried apricots.
