Colheita is a tawny Port, made from grapes of 1 special harvest year. Where 'regular' Tawny Port is meant to be of uniform quality, Colheita Port differs from year to year in character and has more depth than a regular Tawny.
Niepoort usually lets a Colheita age for a minimum of 10 years. This Colheita 2003 aged in small oak barrels for 20 years even because the quality of the grapes was so high. Transparant orange/brick red in colour with the taste that reminds of cherries, apricots, orange peel, smokey notes, spices.
